Iwona Podzielinski, MD

Dr. Podzielinski is a double Board-certified gynecologic oncologist and OB-GYN specializing in female cancer prevention and treatment. With more than 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Podzielinski is committed to providing compassionate, personalized care to her patients. She is recognized for her expertise in complex gynecologic cancer treatments and interventions, having performed thousands of successful surgeries and saved countless lives. Her focus is on delivering excellent care, education, and coordination of services in an atmosphere of kindness, compassion, and respect for every patient, every day.
Dr. Podzielinski earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her gynecologic oncology fellowship training at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. She actively participates in medical research, and her work has been published in numerous prestigious oncology journals.
Born in Plock, Poland – Fort Wayne’s sister city – Dr. Podzielinski first visited Fort Wayne as a member of the folkloristic dance group, Wisła, as part of a cultural exchange program. She moved to Fort Wayne in 1996 and married her husband, John, the following year. While attending Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, she helped run her family’s restaurant, the Dash-In, until medical school required her full focus. Her three children – Matthew, Thomas, and Megan – are pursuing careers in medicine, business, and dentistry, respectively. Her medical practice remains her passion as she continually advocates for gynecologic health and cancer awareness.
Outside of her practice, Dr. Podzielinski enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, gardening, and participating in athletic and outdoor activities.
