Dr. Zimmerman named Man of the Year
Dr. David Zimmerman of Fort Wayne Medical Oncology and Hematology was named the Fort Wayne Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2010 Man of the Year during the campaign’s Grand Finale Gala at Sycamore Hills Golf Club on Saturday, May 1.

Zimmerman competed against several area men for the title by raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Each dollar donated toward a candidate’s campaign counted as one vote.
Zimmerman’s campaign raised $75,000—$30,000 more than his original goal—as a total of $140,000 was raised by all candidates in the 2010 Man and Woman of the Year campaign.
“I’d like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who donated or volunteered during the Man and Woman of the Year campaign,” Zimmerman says. “The real winners are the people of all ages who benefit from the efforts of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I can’t think of a cause more worthy than the fight against cancer.”
Zimmerman also thanked Stacy Forst, a physician assistant at Fort Wayne Medical Oncology and Hematology, who served as his campaign manager. “Stacy did just an outstanding job,” Zimmerman says.
